Cooperation of Rodenstock GmbH with Multitone Elektronik International GmbH in the planning and installation of a personal emergency signal system
Tradition that obliges - For more than 140 years, Rodenstock has been a global innovation leader in the field of ophthalmic optics. With around 4,900 employees, Rodenstock is represented by sales offices and distribution partners in more than 85 countries and produces at a total of 14 locations in 13 countries.
The safety of employees in production is a top priority at Rodenstock. To ensure that this is fully guaranteed, the laboratories at the Munich site as well as the hazardous materials warehouse outside have now been secured with the innovative and patented personal emergency signal system (PNA) EkoSecure® from Multitone.
Small, handy and user-friendly personal emergency signal devices (PNG) are operated via a self-sufficient area-wide radio network. In an emergency, the employee triggers a voluntary (manual) or voluntary-independent (automatic) alarm at the PNG. The alarm is transmitted to the personal emergency signal receiving centre (PNEZ) within seconds together with a location (localisation). The PNEZ is located at the reception of the site, which is manned 24 hours a day. The entire radio network is highly reliable and has been implemented without the need for complex cabling. EkoSecure® is certified by the DGUV according to DIN VDE V 0825-1.
Among other things, solvents are stored in the hazardous materials warehouse in the outdoor area. Therefore, the new Multitone EkoSecure® ATEX-PNG is used here due to the fire and explosion hazard. The special feature of the Multitone ATEX-PNG is its shape, size and weight: it is identical to the standard PNG and therefore extremely comfortable to carry and use.
